The Adeje department of creative development/culture have announced details of the V Amateur Theatre Showcase in Adeje which will see shows staged in the town’s cultural centre auditorium on three Fridays in May, the 12th, 18th and 26th.
According to councillor Adolfo Alonso Ferrera “theatre is part of our cultural and history in Adeje, and five years ago we started this project with the hope and conviction that this event should be in our annual calendar of activities and indeed over the years we have consolidated the event, which we see as adding to the value of what we can offer the community.
The programme for the showcase this year begins on May 12th with the Asociación Sol y Sombra performing ‘Picnic’, a comedy by Fernando Arrabal (no age restrictions). On May 19th the Asociación Cultural Cedarpre, from Guía de Isora, stage ‘Venezia’ (over 12s), and the final play is on May 26th, when Descúbrete Teatro present ‘Sainete’ a series of short performances (no age restrictions). All the plays and performances are in Spanish.
