Look for the barrels outside participating establishments

This year’s Tapas Route, part of the Adeje gastronomy month, Degusta.Me 2018, begins today, Nov 9th. 20 different establishments are taking part this year.

The councillor for economic development, Manuel Luis Méndez Martín, is encouraging everyone to take advantage of the route, “and discover the fantastic tapas that have been created by the Adeje bars and restaurants for the occasion. This is one way of appreciating what we have and using and enjoying our local produce”.

You can consult the tapas route map online, www.adeje.es. And you can easily identify which establishments are taking part as they will have a lovely barrel outside indicating they are on the route. “As in previous years you can also vote for you favourite and when you vote you are also entering a draw for some great prizes”. The prizes, courtesy of the Zona Comercial Abierta Adeje Centro, include a cruise for two a hotel stay and 18 more prizes consisting of dinners and lunches in the participating bars and restaurants. There’s also a chance to win free tapas if you take and upload photos of them labelled “Tapas en el aire” on Puntasso Go in the Puntasso application. . (More info on the app El Puntasso online, www.adeje.es.)

Each participating establishment should have the voting slips. Request yours and the official stamp or app card from each of the participating restaurants/cafes when you visit. When you have a minimum of 4 stamps you can fill in your personal details on the voting slip and vote for your favourite tapa using the ballot boxes in the establishments, the Adeje youth centre, the CDTCA or the Cultural Centre.

Foodie fusions, tastings and tapas!

The Adeje department of economic development and job creation, under Councillor Manuel Méndez Martin, launched the November gastronomy programme this morning, the 9th year the event is taking place. Degusta.Me or ‘Taste Me’ promotes the richness and variety of local produce and culinary creations, showing why our gastronomy has become an integral part of the international profile of this part of Tenerife.

The main goal of the month-long programme of activities has always been to promote the culture of gastronomy in Adeje, valuing the establishments dedicated to good food, the people who run them and serve the public as well as the food itself, which, altogether, “without a doubt bring a large amount of added value to the tourist offer in the region”, said councillor Méndez Martín.

The Calle Grande and the Plaza de España will host a 8-hour event on November 24th, a food festival open to the public with tastings, drink, theatre, bouncy castles, acrobats, jugglers, live music, etc.

As in previous years the Tapas Route invites the public to vote for their favourite tapa from any of the 20 restaurants taking part using the forms in the participating establishments which must be stamped – and their votes will also see them entered into a draw for a selection of great prizes included an 7-day cruise courtesy of the ‘Zona Comercial Abierta Adeje Centro’.

During November there will be visits organised to the Montesdeoca cheese farm and the Finca Noel. The Food Trucks On Tour is also returning. Full details of the month’s activities and the tapas route can be downloaded, in English, from the Adeje council webpage (http://www.adeje.es/degustame/descargas). Members of the public who are interested in taking part in any of the courses and workshops that require prior registration should sign up soon as places will be limited.

Taste, vote, win

The Adeje Tapas route, part of the month-long Degusta.Me festival, is up and running with 14 restaurants, bars and cafes taking part and the public have until Sunday November 26th to taste and vote for their top tapas.

There are prizes for the public as well as the restaurants, with a cruise for two, courtesy of the Zona Comercial Abierta Adeje Centre, as well as an overnight stay in a hotel for two, with lunches and dinners also to be won. For the participating restaurants the awards range from Tapa Oro (gold) Tapa Professional, Tapa Plata (silver) and Tapa Bronce (bronze).

Each tapa is on offer for €2 on its own or €3 with a drink. When you have eaten you can ask for the competition leaflet and make sure the restaurant stamps the section reserved. When you have four stamps you can then cast your vote, naming your favourite tapa in the space provided, and place your vote in the boxes in the Adeje cultural centre, the Costa Adeje Tourism Development Centre (CDTCA) or the Adeje Youth Centre (Casa de la Juventud).
