Amy Winehouse band play tomorrow in the Magma

The Magma Arte & Congresos centre in Adeje welcomes the Amy Winehouse band on Friday December 9th. The Adeje tourism councillor Ermitas Moreira says, “cultural activities and the complementary leisure offers in Adeje are making the destination more attractive to visitors. In this way the Adeje Council is assisting private initiatives with, in this case, local coverage, and publicity in our own networks, publications, etc.”
The Amy Winehouse band musicians – some from her original band and others who play occasionally with the group have come together on the Forever Amy project. This is a quintet of musicians with a soloist who will bring the music and songs of Amy to the Adeje public this Friday. Tickets are on sale through Ticketea (€30 & €35).

The band leader is Dale Davis, bass guitarist with Amy as well as a personal friend of the star and the musical director of this project which respects and protects the image of the artist since her death. Davis has brought together Nathan Allen (drums), Hawie Gondwe (guitar), Jim Hunt (sax) Pete Gordeno (piano/keyboards), and Alba Plano, the soul/jazz singer.
Forever Amy has travelled all over Europe this year and will play one concert only in Tenerife, where the audience can hear the singer’s greatest hits – Valeria, Tears dry on their own, Back to black and Rehab. And Alba Plano certainly brings Amy’s style as well as her songs back to life on stage. The show is an impressive retrospective celebrating the music and performances of the artist that was Amy Winehouse. This is an emotional homage to a huge star, an amazing woman who sold her soul to the music but paid dearly.
