Midsummer Night’s Dream, Adeje, this Friday
Given that we are celebrating 400 years since the death of Mr William Shakespeare, it’s nice to see the Adeje Municipal Theatre Group staging a performance (in Spanish) of “El sueño de una noche de verano” or Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Entrance is free, the performance starts at 8.30 and is on in the Adeje Auditorium in the Cultural Centre. First staged in 1595, it is considered one of theatre’s classic comedies. This version has been adapted from the original by David Martín and directed by Laura Marrero and is just one of the activities the borough has hosted to mark the 400th Anniversary of the death of the Bard.
With the participation of the local municipal school of music and dance (EMMA), “this work will bring a touch of modernity and a singular perspective to this theatrical classic”, says councillor for creative development, Adolfo Alonso Ferrera.
