Military music and much more, Christmas in Adeje

Christmas in Adeje continues this week with another host of activities happening in the town and smaller villages in the borough. The main event for many will the annual military music concert which takes place this year in the Plaza de España, with the Canarian military Band and the Tenerife 49 Infantry Regiment Band, on Thursday December 19th at 7pm.

In the Adeje Cultural Centre on Wednesday the Añaza Gospel kids, the CEIP Las Torres children, and the Adeje school of music and dance children’s choir will be performing and there will also be carol singing in Los Olivos that evening with the Boleros de Armeñime.

Around the smaller neighbourhoods there is also much to do, see and enjoy. Tomorrow, Tuesday December 12th, the streets of La Postura will echo with carols sung by the Imoque Cultural Association. On Wednesday the Armeñime nativity scene will be presented and in the same village there will be a church performance of the birth of Jesus at 11am on Sunday and a light show later on at 7pm on the same day.

On Friday December 15th the Christmas Rhythmic Gymnastics Gala takes place in the El Galeón sports pavilion and there is also a performance of flamenco in the Adeje Cultural Centre and later on the Santa Úrsula choir will sing carols along the Calle Grande.

On Saturday December 16th the Asociación San Juan hold their annual Christmas market in their centre (11am – 6.30pm).

Sunday December 17th will see thousands of walkers join the Carrera por la Vida – Walk for Life, the breast cancer solidarity event, leaving Siam Mall at 11am walking to Arona’s Compestela Beach. Later that evening there will be a children’s event in the Plaza César Manrique.
